Frequently asked questions

Will the fibres cause irritation when handled?

No, the fibres are chemically inert and a non-irritant.

Can I use the 20mm fibres in plaster or render?

It is more advisable to use a shorter fibre in plaster and render as the individual fibres are more visible in vertical applications. TDP have launched a shorter fibre for plaster and render.

The 20mm fibres may also cause the mix to be stiffer and therefore less workable.

Do the TDP fibres negate the need for steel
re-inforcement?

No, if steel re-inforcement is specified for structural strength the fibres are not a replacement. The fibres only strengthen the concrete or screed mix during the curing stage.

How many fibres do I need?

1 x 100g bag is sufficient for adding to 1 x 25kg bag of cement when creating a small mix.

1 x 900g bag is sufficient for adding to 1 cubic metre of concrete or screed.
